How is cognitive search different from enterprise search?
Asked 3 years ago
Hi guys, I'm new here and new to this concept of enterprise, distributed, federated, and cognitive search. Where I am mainly stuck is how does cognitive search differ from enterprise search? They seem to be the same to me.

Cognitive search sits at the top of enterprise search using AI tools and technologies. AI use makes the search more accessible, more relevant, and less time-consuming. When combined with traditional indexing, robust Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms in AI technologies can interpret the search queries better and return more relevant information in less time. Moreover, the IT departments can embed the cognitive search algorithms in their existing systems to increase efficiency.

Cognitive search is an advanced version of the Enterprise search concept. The use of indexing technology combined with AI makes cognitive search stand out from the old classic versions. It overcomes the traditional search knowledge management and enterprise search concept. With these upgrades, cognitive search extracts relevant and specific information from the data, enhancing the user experience and efficiency of query responses. Ultimately, leveling up employees' productivity and performance.
