Why is data integrity so important?
Asked 3 years ago
Hi everyone. I have a question regarding data integrity. Now I understand that it's important to have reliable and trustworthy data, but I'm unsure how exactly this benefits a business. Could someone explain why data integration is so important? In what ways does it benefit a business? Any helpful responses are welcome.

Data integrity is key as it assures traceability and searchability of the data to its actual source. With data integrity, the stability and performance of data also go up. In business, data integrity protects your data from cyber attacks such as malware. Also, you can take the best business decisions with real-time data, allowing your business to be more productive.

Data integrity helps to ensure the accuracy and authenticity of the information. The benefits of data integrity include:
- Data integrity is critical for decision-making in a business.
- When data is accurate and complete, it is difficult for people to manipulate it for their benefit.
- Data integrity is paramount to maintaining customer trust.
- If customers feel their personal information is not end-to-end protected, they will be less likely to do business with a company. Hence, this gives you another reason to maintain data integrity.
- Data integrity helps to protect against fraud and corruption.
